I have always believed that a home is never really finished. It evolves with you. It grows as your family grows. That belief is what Blue Creek Home has always been built on. And it is what keeps me going.

Hi, I am Rhonda

I grew up with an eye for spaces. Not in a formal, studied way, just an instinct. I could walk into a room and immediately feel what it needed. A different paint color. A piece of furniture moved three inches to the left.

That instinct turned into a career. I spent over 12 years in decorative painting and faux finishing, starting with a faux finishing company I co-owned in Mississippi that became profitable. We transformed walls, cabinets, furniture, and entire rooms into something people had never seen in person before.

I later moved back to Alabama and joined Faux Biz, an Auburn-based showroom and teaching facility where I taught classes in furniture and cabinet finishes and the lost art of aging mirrors. Teaching was something I did not expect to love as much as I did.

I also had a booth at Old Bank Antiques in Dadeville, Alabama, where I sold vintage and antique pieces alongside my own handmade pillow line called BCH Originals. Each pillow was made by hand using vintage linens and image transfer techniques I had spent years perfecting.

My Blue Creek Home started as a natural extension of all of that. A place to put the ideas, the projects, the finds, and the passion that did not fit anywhere else.

What Changed

In 2026, I made the biggest decision in the history of this site. I rebranded Blue Creek Home completely.

Every single part of it. New design, new structure, new editorial direction, new categories, new standards. I brought Blue Creek Home into a new era without losing a single ounce of what made it worth reading in the first place.

What You Will Find Here

My Blue Creek Home is now a full home decor magazine, and I mean that in the most expansive sense of the word.

I cover every room in the house: living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, dining rooms, home offices, kids’ rooms, entryways, and hallways. I cover what goes beyond the walls too, gardens, patios, porches, outdoor kitchens, backyards, front yards, water features, pergolas, and everything in between.

Every article published on My Blue Creek Home goes through a careful review process before it goes live. We fact-check our content, verify sources, and make sure every piece of advice we share is practical, honest, and so useful to our readers.

Why I Do This

I do not run Blue Creek Home because it is a business strategy. I run it because I cannot imagine not running it.

My mission has always been simple. To give people ideas they can actually use, delivered in a way that feels like advice from someone who genuinely knows what they are talking about and genuinely wants to help. No filler.

A Few Things I Stand By

I will never recommend something I would not use myself. I will always be upfront about affiliate links and sponsored content. I will always write like a real person and never like a press release.
